Thanks for checking out my site! I’d like to tell you a little about myself.

About me: Photography

Photography has been a passion for many years. In 1981 my friend Paul Wos introduced me to the marvels of a good camera and the fun you could have with it. I’ve been taking pictures ever since. The equipment has changed, but the passion remains. I’ve come to realize how precious those captured moments are, and I very much enjoy providing those moments to people and families.

In order to improve my photography, I’ve completed a two-year program earning a Certificate in Digital Photography from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Additionally I’ve taken photography classes at Oakland Community College, the Santa Fe Workshops, and have attended numerous seminars.

About me: Everything else

I’ve been blessed with many opportunities in life. I’ve been a professional musician for over 40 years, playing percussion with various groups and various styles. I’ve played extra and substitute with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, I was the timpanist with the Michigan Opera Theater, and I currently perform with the Michigan Philharmonic, the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, the Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra, the Golden Rain Percussion Ensemble, and I continue to maintain an active free-lance schedule. As a free-lancer I’ve performed with Aretha Franklin, The Moody Blues, Dennis DeYoung (Stix), and many others.

In another part of my life, I was an emergency responder. I worked EMS in Rochester, NY for a little over a year, then returned to the Detroit area and was a firefighter/paramedic with the West Bloomfield Fire Department for almost 30 years, retiring as the Assistant Chief, in charge of emergency operations.

But the best part of my life has been as a husband to my bride, Tracey, and a father to my 3 grown children. I’m now blessed with the gift of grandchildren, and I’m enjoying every minute of it. God has been so good to me and my family, and I am so grateful. Psalm 115:1.
